79th Independence Day Celebration

On Friday, 15th August 2025, the National Association for the Blind, Karnataka (NAB-K) proudly celebrated India’s 79th Independence Day at our campus in Bengaluru. The atmosphere was full of excitement, pride, and unity as students, staff, and special guests came together to honour the spirit of freedom. We were delighted to welcome Mr. K L Ramesh, Chairman of the Handicrafts and Carpet Sector Skill Council (HCSSC), New Delhi; Mr. Vikrant Maini, Director at Virya Electrical Powertrain Pvt. Ltd.; and Mr. Venugopal Koka, an experienced leader who has held senior roles in many industries, including General Electric.

The celebration started at 8:30 am with a warm welcome to our guests, followed by a beautiful invocation song sung by our students. Soon after, the flag hoisting ceremony brought everyone together in a proud and emotional moment of patriotism. Our students then presented inspiring performances that highlighted India’s rich culture and strength.

We would also like to thank Mr. Vikrant Maini for offering jobs to three of our trainees at Virya Mobility. This is an important step toward helping persons with visual impairment achieve financial independence. The event ended with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, followed by a delicious breakfast shared by students, guests, and well-wishers, creating a warm space for conversations and stronger connections. At NAB-K, Independence Day is not only about celebrating our nation’s freedom but also about recognising the importance of working together to create an inclusive society where everyone can succeed.
