On June 13, 2025, The National Association for the Blind, Karnataka (NAB-K), celebrated the graduation day of the 333rd batch of its Orientation and Mobility program, a core part of its mission to foster independence and safe navigation for individuals with visual impairments. With training in mobility tools, environmental awareness, and spatial skills, the program helps individuals with visual impairments gain essential life skills for daily movement and integration into public spaces. The event was held at NAB-K’s Bengaluru campus.

Mr. Das Suryavanshi, the state commissioner for Persons with Disabilities in Karnataka, was the chief guest for this program. He has decades of leadership experience in the disability sector. Mr. Suryavanshi is highly recognised for his policy work and grassroots initiatives, especially for introducing the Kannada Braille Bible and promoting local employment opportunities for people with disabilities across the state.

Mr. Rajesh M (CEO of NAB-K), Mr. Srikant Rao (Vice President of NAB-K), Mr. Gopal Padmanaban (Governing Council Member), and Ms. Latha Kumari (Senior Mobility Instructor) were also present at the program, along with staff and well-wishers, reflecting the organization’s strong leadership support.
The gathering was not just a celebration of completion and individual achievements but also a reaffirmation of NAB-K’s long-standing commitment to empowering persons with visual impairments through skill-building and advocacy.
