Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Boston students visited NABK

June 27, 2025, was a special day at the National Association for the Blind, Karnataka (NAB-K), as we welcomed guests from across the world. Dr. Dayaprasad, Mr. Sridhar, and six students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston visited our campus to learn more about our work and interact with our students.

The visit started with a warm welcome, followed by a tour of the NAB-K campus. Our guests spent time at the Experience Centre, where they explored how blind and visually impaired individuals utilise various tools and technologies to learn, navigate, and build independent lives. The MIT students showed great interest in understanding the challenges and strengths of people with visual impairments.

The interaction was full of smiles, curiosity, and respect. This wasn’t just a visit—it was an honest exchange of ideas and understanding between two worlds that, despite their differences, share the same core values: inclusion, education, and empowerment. Moments like this help build global friendships and raise awareness about the importance of disability inclusion.

At NAB-K, we believe every visit is an opportunity to share our journey and learn from others. The presence of the MIT team reminded us of the power of learning when it transcends borders and brings people together.
